Snowglobe

5 December, 2009

It may not snow here in Brissie, however I still love snowglobes! Maybe it helps me cool down in this humid, windless, heat. Here’s my take on a snowglobe. Just add some dazzling diamonds and water and using acetate as the backing, voila! my very own snowglobe.

Star Ornaments

3 December, 2009

Here’s a really quick idea to create your own Christmas Ornaments.

star

Directions:

1. Copy out a star shape onto CS. Cut the image out. Trace a 1 1/4″ circle onto the back of the CS and carefully cut out the circle.

2. Decorate the front of the star using swirl stamps and dazzling diamonds (adhere with two-way glue pen).

3. Add treats into the sweet treat cup and adhere acetate to the back of the sweet treat cup. You can add some string and string it onto your Christmas tree – if they last that long…

Here’s a few more that I made… I used Skittles for the treats. Hopefully these will last until Xmas before getting eaten!

Snowman Poop… Reindeer Poop…

2 December, 2009

I just love the cute little poems about snowman poop and reindeer poop. There’s a few versions out there, some are a little longer than others. I wanted to keep them nice and short. Hope you can read them on the cards that I made.

Here is a Gumball card that I’ve made using the new Sweet Treat Cups and the matching stamp set Something Sweet. Considering how big these ‘gumballs’ are, they’re the mega jaw breakers that I’ve seen when I was younger (nearly as big as a tennis ball ). I remember trying to fit one into my mouth – unfortunately it was too big.  I had to lick it like a lollipop – I love to chew my lollies and so it was so frustrating that I couldn’t get this thing between my teeth to chomp – well even when it was finally small enough to fit in my mouth – I couldn’t do any chomping since they were rock solid – hence the name – Jaw Breakers!  So here you go … here’s a jaw breaking card for you!

gumball

Stamps – Something Sweet
Ink – Real Red, Green Galore, Summer Sun Markers
Paper –CS in Summer Sun, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope DSP,
Accessories – 1 3/4″ circle punch, 3/4″ polka dot real red grosgrain ribbon, stampin’ dimensionals

Directions:

1. Attach 3 pieces of the polka dot ribbon across the Kaleidoscope DSP. Then adhere to the Summer Sun base card.

2. Using markers, ink the gumball machine stamps and stamp on Whisper White CS. Cut around them. Punch a 1 3/4″ circle in the Whisper White CS and then position the top and bottom of the gumball cut outs using stampin dimensionals.

3. Fill the sweet treat cup and enclose it with an acetate cover. Put it through the circle and attach the piece to a Summer Sun mat, before adhering the centre piece to the DSP.

Here’s another item that I made, it’s a sunflower!

Sunflower

Stamps – Something Sweet
Ink – Summer Sun and More Mustard Classic Ink
Paper –CS in Summer Sun and Whisper White
Accessories –sweet treat cup, 1 3/4″ circle punch, stamp-a-ma-jig, Certainly Celery 5/8” grosgrain ribbon, acetate, bamboo skewer, circle scissors

Directions:

1. Using the new 1 3/4″ circle punch, punch a circle in whisper white CS. Then using the stamp-a-ma-jig, align the petal stamp around the circle using Summer Sun. Carefully cut around the petals.

2. Using the circle scissors and a pencil, draw a circle of approximately 2 1/4″ circle on Summer Sun CS. Aligning the cutout petals onto the Summer Sun CS, add a mark to show where the ‘middle’ of the petal will be placed.

3. Place the cutout petals aside and again with the stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp the petals in More Mustard around the large circle positioning the middle of the petal along the marks made in pencil. There will be gaps between the petals – as it’s a larger circle. Cut around the petals.

4. Layer and adhere the petal pieces together and then punch a 1 3/4″ circle in the Summer Sun card (turn the punch over to see where the first circle was punched out and repunch the same circle.

5. With the sweet treat cup, fill it with Sunflower seeds and then sealed it with an acetate sheet with a little flap (the size of a petal). Using tombow adhesive, adhere the sweet treat cup to the sunflower. Add a bamboo skewer covered in certain celery ribbon for the stem.

Similar to the sunflower, I gave my downline a Pretty in Pink Flower at the Brisbane Regional Training event. I love how easy these sweet treat cups are to use (not to mention – they’re a bargain at $6.50 for 12). I use acetate on the back of most of my sweet treat cups with a little flap so the recipient can pull back the acetate to access the goodies without destroying the card/flower.

Here’s a sneak peek at other things that I’ve made with the sweet treat cups that I will be sharing with you later… come back and visit my blog to see what other items you can make – perfect for Christmas, just around the corner.

There’s a new Summer Mini Catalogue out. I am so loving the butterfly punch and co-ordinating stamp set (it also fits the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set!). The Sweet Treat Cups are a favourite. You’ll see in the following few days some of the projects that I’ve created using the sweet treat cups. They’re so easy to use and they give such a WOW factor. Not to mention the yummy delights that it holds. I’ll be updating my blog to include other projects created with some of the fantastic products from the Summer Mini.

Birthday Cards

1 November, 2009

Here’s two cards that I made for some recent birthdays.

This one is for Damon who turned 8 this year. I couldn’t wait to use my circle scissors. It cuts perfectly! Love it. And guess what? It’s coming out in the new Summer mini – available from December. See how easy you can make circles from 1-6″ in diameter. And do you like my multicoloured greeting? I just love how versatile this one stamp is. I’ve used it in a few of my cards. So quick and easy.

Stamps – Birthday Wish
Ink – Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, Real Red Stampin Markers
Paper – A4 CS in Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White
Accessories – Circle Scissors, black cotton thread, Pumkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, sponges, balloon die.

And this card was for my husband’s grandmother’s birthday. I thought I’d try the flower pot card. At first I only had the flowers and realised that the flowers really were too small by itself. Rather than fix up the flower pot, I added the green leaves. What do you think? The dimensions seem a little more realistic.

OSW Circle Circus

1 November, 2009

Here’s a great quick way to make 10 easy cards. I’ve borrowed this colour scheme (using the colours from Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP) to create these cards using a OSW template that my upline, Steph Pike had and adjusted it to make 10 cards. I just love the colours and it’s so easy to make a stack of cards for many occasions.

M&M tubes

18 October, 2009

I’ve been keeping myself busy today making this delightful gift. A great little gift to give to friends for Xmas using the Raspberry Tart DSP and Rose Red cardstock. It was really hard not to eat the coloured M&M’s whilst sorting them out…bye for now – off to get some study done.
