Here is a Gumball card that I’ve made using the new Sweet Treat Cups and the matching stamp set Something Sweet. Considering how big these ‘gumballs’ are, they’re the mega jaw breakers that I’ve seen when I was younger (nearly as big as a tennis ball ). I remember trying to fit one into my mouth – unfortunately it was too big.  I had to lick it like a lollipop – I love to chew my lollies and so it was so frustrating that I couldn’t get this thing between my teeth to chomp – well even when it was finally small enough to fit in my mouth – I couldn’t do any chomping since they were rock solid – hence the name – Jaw Breakers!  So here you go … here’s a jaw breaking card for you!

gumball

Stamps – Something Sweet
Ink – Real Red, Green Galore, Summer Sun Markers
Paper –CS in Summer Sun, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope DSP,
Accessories – 1 3/4″ circle punch, 3/4″ polka dot real red grosgrain ribbon, stampin’ dimensionals

Directions:

1. Attach 3 pieces of the polka dot ribbon across the Kaleidoscope DSP. Then adhere to the Summer Sun base card.

2. Using markers, ink the gumball machine stamps and stamp on Whisper White CS. Cut around them. Punch a 1 3/4″ circle in the Whisper White CS and then position the top and bottom of the gumball cut outs using stampin dimensionals.

3. Fill the sweet treat cup and enclose it with an acetate cover. Put it through the circle and attach the piece to a Summer Sun mat, before adhering the centre piece to the DSP.

Here’s another item that I made, it’s a sunflower!

Sunflower

Stamps – Something Sweet
Ink – Summer Sun and More Mustard Classic Ink
Paper –CS in Summer Sun and Whisper White
Accessories –sweet treat cup, 1 3/4″ circle punch, stamp-a-ma-jig, Certainly Celery 5/8” grosgrain ribbon, acetate, bamboo skewer, circle scissors

Directions:

1. Using the new 1 3/4″ circle punch, punch a circle in whisper white CS. Then using the stamp-a-ma-jig, align the petal stamp around the circle using Summer Sun. Carefully cut around the petals.

2. Using the circle scissors and a pencil, draw a circle of approximately 2 1/4″ circle on Summer Sun CS. Aligning the cutout petals onto the Summer Sun CS, add a mark to show where the ‘middle’ of the petal will be placed.

3. Place the cutout petals aside and again with the stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp the petals in More Mustard around the large circle positioning the middle of the petal along the marks made in pencil. There will be gaps between the petals – as it’s a larger circle. Cut around the petals.

4. Layer and adhere the petal pieces together and then punch a 1 3/4″ circle in the Summer Sun card (turn the punch over to see where the first circle was punched out and repunch the same circle.

5. With the sweet treat cup, fill it with Sunflower seeds and then sealed it with an acetate sheet with a little flap (the size of a petal). Using tombow adhesive, adhere the sweet treat cup to the sunflower. Add a bamboo skewer covered in certain celery ribbon for the stem.

Similar to the sunflower, I gave my downline a Pretty in Pink Flower at the Brisbane Regional Training event. I love how easy these sweet treat cups are to use (not to mention – they’re a bargain at $6.50 for 12). I use acetate on the back of most of my sweet treat cups with a little flap so the recipient can pull back the acetate to access the goodies without destroying the card/flower.

Here’s a sneak peek at other things that I’ve made with the sweet treat cups that I will be sharing with you later… come back and visit my blog to see what other items you can make – perfect for Christmas, just around the corner.
